Re: aircraft carier tutorial

Hi,
this might not be a bad idea but if you can succeed in landing in the simulators, then I don¨t get how you can not land on the carrier. It's much simpler, except that you need to be closer to the carrier than to the landing beacon.
Unfortunately, I don't currently have the time to record a tutorial at the moment, but here is a written explanation, hope it helps:
1. Just like when landing normally, take out your landing gear once you get below 1000 feet.
2. Start approaching the carrier. Note that you can land on it at a much higher speed than on the runway, I believe the maximum possible speed in this case is around 700 knots. Your angle of attack can also be steeper.
3. The only other thing which is different and which you need to pay attention to: the deck of the carrier is only 2 miles wide, unlike the runway which is 5 miles wide. In other words, you can only land successfully on the carrier if you are closer than 2.1 miles to it. You get notified by radio messages as you approach the carrier. Once the third message plays, you should be safe to land.
Hope this helps,
Lukas

Hi,
I'm crash landing when landing on the carier. I don't even know if this is possible due to the realism of the game. But is it possible to have like a practice land on the carier option? And if you do crash, find out the exact reason why? Unrealistic I know but I don't know how else, other than another tutorial. Thoughts? Just thinking, if you're one of the best pilots in the area, you need to know how to do everything, but I know that takes time to code another option in the game. I'm just a hands-on person.

I haven't actually used this myself yet but I think that you can use the additional lasers to tag other targets. So you could tag one target and then change your mind and tag another one before firing a cruise missile. I don't know if it is possible though, it's just a theoretical asumption. If it works, either the first tag would then be canceled and only the second, more recent, target would remain tagged, which I think is more likely, or the first missile you then fired would be directed at one of the targets and a second, later, one would follow the other one.
Lukas

Hi,
I've unfortunately never remembered the exact locations of the individual mission objectives by heart, sorry about that. However, you can try ascending to a higher altitude to increase your radar range. The higher you are, the farther away your radar will be able to see, to put it simply. you may even want to temporarily go up into the thin air zone where your engine integrity is gradually decreased to get the most out of it. If you won't be able to see the current objective even then, go back down where it is safe, turn in the approximate direction that Chase told you in his last instruction, fly for some miles in that direction and then try to repeat the process. you should get to it eventually. The distances from one objective to another can sometimes be pretty large when they are located on the opposite sides of the island, so don't let that throw you off. :-)
Hope this helps,
Lukas

Hi,
the number of races you'll be required to complete can't be determined in advance, that depends on how many opponents face you in every one of them. The scoring system is explained both in the manual and in Chase's intro when he guides you to the simulators. So the goal is to get 20 points, only then will the races be over.
You need to turn towards the signal until it goes away. As long as it keeps playing, you're still facing the wrong direction. No need to worry about your altitude in racing mode, I often complete an entire race below the harddeck (the recommended safe altitude of 10000 feet).
Hope this helps,
Lukas
